Great day had by all!

Delighted to report that the result of the golf outing was quite simply, an outstanding success.

The biggest turnout for many a year, indeed not since the days of the old pilgrimages to Gullane.

Some old faces less seen of late with the likes of the Craig brothers, Frank Strang, Rob Mitchell and Johnny Walker in welcome attendance.

Six Captains and Six Presidents present and an age range from 20 to 80.

A good number of revered old goats who have hung up their clubs, and just came for the craic.

In amongst this a small handful who could actually play golf.

An astonishing round by Frank Strang shooting his age at 79, despite this only placing 3rd in the time honoured outcome of a handicap system being devised to thwart the bookies.

In second place Andrew Cunningham, who rumour has it got the handicap of another Cunningham.

In first place Bryan Craig who it is rumoured found the greens like a well laid carpet (not something he sees often).

Keegan De Vos did an interesting treble of following up his recent double in the Player of the Year awards, with an outstanding capture of "The Taking Part Trophy" in his debut season against what was the stiffest competition for many a year.

The Scottish drinks industry received a healthy boost.

A great day was had by all.

Huge thanks to Albert Troy for all the organisation, and the the Haddington Golf Club for hosting.

Roll on, or even bump along, next year.
