The players who represent our club during secondary school are central to everything we do. They’re the link between starting out in minis and our senior teams.
Over the years the name of this has evolved, with a mix of Knox and Haddington used, and School of Rugby has been the most common term in recent years.
This is now changing to Haddington Rugby Academy to reflect the core role that these teams play in representing their town and the broader Haddington Rugby Community. Our club invests heavily in supporting these teams, the coaches are all skilled and SRU accredited and our development manager works every week with the players in sessions in and out of the classroom.
We will continue to strive to improve playing numbers, quality of coaching and facilities to keep as many players engaged as possible, while enabling excellence in those who wish to improve. The changes will take place with immediate effect.
Both Knox Academy and the Scottish Rugby Union remain critical partners supporting many of our activities, the identity change here doesn’t change those great relationships.
