Alan Bell, one of our long serving players and "Belly" to his many friends, is currently undergoing stem cell treatment for acute myeloid leukaemia.

Typical of Belly, who has run Tranent's youth and community service charity Recharge for 11 years, he has asked that we do all we can for others rather than himself to raise awareness and funds for blood cancers and stem cell research.

In response we are delighted to announce the following series of activities:

"Belly's Big Breakfast" in Haddington Rugby Club on Saturday 1st June from 9am to Noon, where breakfast will be on sale, with proceeds including donations, going to our two chosen charities, and there will be guidance and information on blood and stem cell donation. All welcome, please book if you can to help with numbers by texting Keith Wallace on 07713887150.
A Just Giving pages https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising-edit/Keith-Wallace2 and https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising-edit/Keith-Wallace3 for our two chosen DKMS www.DKMS.org.uk and Bloodwise www.Bloodwise.org.uk and where you can donate and leave messages for Alan, with gift aid if you are a taxpayer.
A mass blood donation at the Edinburgh Blood Donor Centre in the afternooon of 1st June where we have booked the whole session and will donate 25 pints of HRFC finest.
All members and friends are encouraged to do what they can to honour Belly's request, and we send him all our love, support and well wishes as he takes on his latest challenge.
