HRFC mourns the passing of former Captain Jimmy Bowman.

Jimmy first played for the Club in the 1940s, and was a strong presence on the field throughout the 1950s.

He was a particularly good sevens player, featuring in many winning sevens including five wins at Haddington and four in a row at Cartha.

He was captain in season 1954/55 and was named in the best ever team chosen to mark the Club's 50th Anniversary.

Off the field he contributed as an artist, doing the artwork for the cover of the History of the Club, and the mural which is still in the Club today.

He will be sadly missed.

Funeral service, to which all friends are respectfully invited, to be held on Thursday, January 9, at 1 pm, in the Baptist Church, Pitlochry and thereafter to Fonab Cemetery. Bright colours to be worn in celebration of Jim's life. Family flowers only. Donations can be made in lieu at the church to Jim's chosen charity
