The Reds welcomed Livingston to Neilson Park, while also welcoming back several first-team regulars after last week’s drubbing to Falkirk.
The home side got on the scoreboard early on, as the forwards drove Livingston towards their own line, before Pryor emerged with the ball to claim the try.
Kyle Adams kept up his impressive scoring tally this season with the Reds’ second inside the opening quarter of an hour, and they were well on their way to an emphatic victory.
And a magnificent first-half performance saw the Reds secure a try bonus point with Adams again heavily involved in the third try.
The winger broke down the touchline before feeding full-back, and close friend Ferguson, who beat the covering defender to go in underneath the posts. He converted his own try, and left Livingston with a mountain to climb at 17-0.
And that lead was extended as half-time neared, with Smith’s tap penalty taking the hosts to within 10 metres of the Livingston try line.
Gavin Stewart and Pryor tried to bash their way over the line, before a floated pass from Brownlee found Chalmers out wide, and the winger cut inside to score his first try of the season and seal the bonus point.
His match was ended in the process of scoring, and Nick Bell was summoned from the replacements bench to make his return to a Haddington jersey.
At half-time, the Reds were in complete control, and led 22-0.
The second half was a much less entertaining spectacle, as the Reds looked to secure only their second win of the season, but they fell foul of the referee’s whistle, Pryor the man singled out for his work at the breakdown and shown a yellow card.
The home side had to wait until the final act of the match to score their fifth try, with a big tackle from lock Stewart turning ball over, and a well-executed kick from captain Ferguson setting Adams off on the chase.
The Livingston defenders made a mess of the loose ball, and the winger capitalised to score his second of the afternoon, sparking scenes of celebration at Neilson Park.
