There was a timely return to action for Ross Martin, who replaced the injured Mark Morrison in the squad with Colin Stuart moving into the back-row to accommodate 'Latch' in the boiler house.
In the backs, Colts winger Paul McClung - who has impressed as part of the Edinburgh age-grade set up - was given his opportunity out wide with Kyle Adams again at full-back and James Ferguson occupying the number 10 jersey.
McClung shone on the wide expanses of Neilson Park, showing his pace and power to score two fine tries on his 1st XV debut.
It was also a perfect return for Martin, as the former Heriot's man capped his return following several months on the sidelines with a rare try - adding to the mammoth scoreline.
Number eight Kris Paterson and full-back Adams also crossed twice, while there were scores for Ferguson, Stuart, captain Garry Cockburn, Mike Legget and Sandy McCutcheon.
Post-match, head coach Bryan Craig hailed the performance of the impressive back-row.
He said: "We asked the players to deliver a big performance and Kris Paterson was causing havoc running some dangerous lines.
"Colin Stuart was also running strongly and over the 80 minutes must have made the most yards with ball in hand. He deserved his score, and the man of the match award.
"Out wide, Sandy (McCutcheon) was also looking dangerous and although Hawick YM battled bravely, they had no answer for the relentless waves of attack."
Despite the massive win, the club's biggest for many years, Craig insists focus quickly turns to this weekend's East Lothian Cup encounter with local rivals Dunbar.
He added: "The boys can enjoy this for a couple of days but by the time we're back at training on Tuesday, our focus will be 100% on next weekend's game with Dunbar."
